New Music and Photo Browsers

I just finished publishing a photo browser and a music browser to accumulate the various things I've posted, and will continue to post. Both browsers are accessible from the links in the menu on the left.

The photo browser let you page through titled and collected thumbnails, click to view photo details and description, or download a full size version of any photo.

The music browser lets you preview all the songs, click to see details and lyrics, or download any song in one of several audio formats. You must have a Quicktime plugin installed in your browser to preview songs, but the downloads should work for anyone.

If you encounter any problems with the browsers, let me know using the contact information at left.

Playing Media Files

If you're having trouble viewing or playing media files on this site, here are some tips and technical information.

All music on this site is offered in one preview format and three download formats:

Preview64kb AAC (MP4)Supported by most major media players on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux.
Downloadable AAC160kb AAC (MP4)Supported by most major media players on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. Suitable for iTunes and most modern mobile devices. This is the best option unless you prefer MP3s for compatibility.
Downloadable MP3256kb MP3Supported by all major media players on Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux. Suitable for iTunes and all mobile devices. This is the most widely compatible format.
Downloadable FLACLosslessPartial media player support. This is a lossless codec that provides the best quality at the expense of large file sizes, but may not play on some media players and is not suitable for mobile devices.

All video on this site is offered in Quicktime format. The video codec is H.264 with AAC audio, which offers the best compression quality for the file size. It's also ready for direct transfer to an iPhone or iPod touch. The following software should be supported for playing these videos in your browser:

WindowsQuicktime, Windows Media Player 9 or higher.
Mac OS XQuicktime.
LinuxMPlayer, VLC, Amarok.

All videos can be downloaded and played offline as well.

Because of both time and bandwidth considerations, I am not planning to offer video in other formats. However, multiple sizes may be available, depending on the video; e.g., web, SD and HD.

Licensing of Creative Works

Do you want to use or distribute any of the photos, music, or video that I've authored and posted on this site? Unless otherwise specified, all my works are copyrighted in the US and licensed under the Creative Commons Attribution- Noncommercial- Share Alike 3.0 United States License.

In really simple terms, this means you can do what you want with my works, as long as A) I get credit for them, B) you don't try to make money off them (negotiable), and C) you don't modify them and then apply a more restrictive license to the modified version.

In simple terms, this means that you are free to:

Provided you comply with the following conditions:

And for the full-on legalese version, click through to the Creative Commons site.

Note that this site may also include links to other people's works that you may not be authorized to use in the same manner. This license only applies to works that I have created.
